A unique meeting of Northern Indian kathak dance and contemporary dance, 4 Shiva’s Steps is a journey which explores the links between tradition and modernity.
Conceived both as a danced concert and an intercultural dialogue, this daring Franco-Indian work will build bridges and pathways between two continents and two countries as well as between contrasting artistic practices. Driven by the desire to create connections between these two cultures, 4 Shiva’s Steps renders substantive a strong and unifying language.
Beyond the as yet unseen union between traditional Indian dance and contemporary dance there will also be a sort of musical melting pot created, blending Hindustani music and Western jazz.
